Celebrate the small wins

Are you waiting for someone else to pat you on the back and tell you how well you are doing? Please stop right there and take a moment to give yourself the accolades that you want to receive.


Who says you can only celebrate the big wins?


Incorporate time daily and make it a habit to celebrate yourself even whilst you are on your way to those bigger goals. Self - appreciation is part of self care and it helps keep motivation up. Taking just 5 minutes to acknowledge your accomplishments for the day is so important. We are more likely to say we didn't get enough done in our day instead of appreciating the many things we did manage to get through on our to-do list.


Start to give yourself some grace we all know that being hard on ourselves is not the way forward. Celebrating the small wins is all about trial and error, figure out what works best for you and run with it. The amazing thing about our individual journeys is that we are all able to create our own paths and figure out what works and what doesn't. Make a list of all the things that would make you feel appreciated and start to do them one by one.


If you're wondering 'how can I start to celebrate the small wins?' start by thinking about what you can do to appreciate yourself. If that sounds like too much then imagine you were looking at yourself from the outside and you wanted to try and put a smile on your face, what would you do? Would you buy your favourite chocolate? Take yourself on a relaxing walk? Meditate? Stop off at your local coffee shop? Take some time out to write yourself a gratitude letter? A gratitude letter is literally a letter thanking yourself for all the amazing things you are doing, appreciating how far you have come.


No matter how small it might be, celebrate your small wins. Sometimes the people around you can't see the battles you are faced with daily so I implore you to do something nice for yourself - you deserve it!
